How we write and review our content

How pages are written

Pages are drafted with AI tools. Exercise pages start from the videos and voice guides that physiotherapists recorded for the PocketPhysio app, so the steps describe the movement the video shows.

How pages are checked

Every page goes through a two-step clinical review against published clinical guidelines before it is published. The two checks are carried out separately with AI tools, and they cover the steps, dose ranges, warning signs and precautions. Where the two checks disagree, the more cautious option is used. A page is published only when both checks agree and it passes our quality checks.

Who publishes this site

This site is published by PocketPhysio, operated by 3328833 Nova Scotia Limited, operating as Lauruss Infotech, a company in Nova Scotia, Canada, and powered by VirtueLife. Every page is written and checked by the PocketPhysio editorial team, which is the author and publisher named in the structured data on every page. We never put an individual's name on a page.

Everything on this site about health is education for patients and physiotherapists. It is not a diagnosis, not a personal treatment plan, and not a substitute for seeing a physiotherapist, physical therapist or doctor. See our medical disclaimer.

What the review line on each page means

"Reviewed by the PocketPhysio by VirtueLife expert physiotherapy team" means the page has also been approved by a registered physiotherapist. "Written and checked by the PocketPhysio editorial team" means the page has been through the two-step review, but not yet through a physiotherapist's approval.

Pages on higher-risk topics (rehab after surgery, pregnancy and after birth, children, heart and lung conditions, stroke and other neurological conditions) go through the same two-step review with extra safety checks, and they tell readers to follow the plan from their own surgeon, hospital or rehab team first.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to draft and check content. We never use them to invent studies or statistics, and every reference is checked to exist before it goes on a page.

Sources

Condition programs, guides and tools list their sources at the end of the page, from clinical guidelines to the original publications of the tests and scales we use. Exercise pages describe how to do an exercise and make no claims about how well it works.

Updates and corrections

Every page carries the date it was last updated, under its title. Clinical pages are reviewed at least every two years, and sooner when guidance changes. If you spot an error, email hello@pocketphysio.app and we will fix factual errors within seven days.
